Kumayl bin Ziyad Nakha'i adalah sahabat pilihan Imam Ali AS. Ketika Imam Ali AS memerintah, (35-40H), Kumayl dlantik menjadi wali kota Hait. Ia akhirnya menemui kesyahidannya pada tahun 83 hijrah dalam usia 90 tahun atas perintah penguasa zalim, Hajjaj bin Yusuf al-Tsaqafi. Kumayl dimakamkan di suatu tempat bernama Tsaubah, yang terletak di antara Najaf al-Asyraf dan Kufah, di Iraq.

Doa Kumayl ini telah diajarkan oleh Imam Ali AS kepada Kumayl RA. Menurut Sayyid Ibn Thawwus dalam kitab Iqbal,riwayat ini disampaikan oleh Kumayl:" Pada suatu hari, saya duduk di masjid Basrah bersama Maulana Amirul Mu'minin Ali AS membicarakan hal Nisfu Sya'ban. Ketika ditanya tentang ayat," Fiha yufraqu kullu amrin hakim," (Surah al-Dukhaan:4), Imam Ali AS mengatakan bahawa ayat ini mengenai Nisfu Sya'ban; orang yang beribadat di malam itu, tidak tidur, dan membaca Doa Hadrat Hidhr AS akan diterima doanya."

"Ketika Imam Ali pulang ke rumahnya, di malam itu, saya menyusulinya. Melihat saya, Imam AS bertanya," Apakah keperluan anda ke mari?" Jawab saya, " Saya ke sini untuk mendapatkan Doa Hadrat Hidhr." Imam mempersilakan saya duduk, seraya mengatakan," Ya Kumayl, apabila anda menghafal doa ini dan membacanya setiap malam Juma'at,cukuplah itu untuk melepaskan anda dari kejahatan, ada akan ditolong Allah, diberi rezeki, dan doa ini akan dimakbulkan. Ya Kumayl, lamanya persahabatan serta perkhidmatan anda, menyebabkan anda dikurniai nikmat dan kemuliaan untuk belajar (doa ini)."

Adapun amalan-amalannya dengan doa kumayl adalah sebagai berikut:

* Imam Ali menyarankan Kumayl untuk membaca doa ini pada setiap malam Jumat, atau sekali dalam sebulan, atau paling tidak sekali dalam setahun. Sehingga, ditambahkan oleh Imam Ali, “Allah akan menjagamu dari kejahatan musuh-musuhmu dan dari perencanaan hal buruk oleh kaum munafik. Oh Kumayl! atas kesetiaan dan pemahamanmu, aku ijazahkan kamu doa ini”
* Seorang sayid, ustadz, zahid, manusia yang wara’ dan teman bagi saya membacanya setiap hari sehabis Subuh. Semoga rahmat selalu terlimpah atasnya dan dilapangkan urusan-urusannya untuk kemaslahatan umat.

اِلـهَ إلاّ اَنْتَ سُبْحانَكَ وَبِحَمْدِكَ ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسي، وَتَجَرَّأْتُ بِجَهْلي وَسَكَنْتُ اِلى قَديمِ ذِكْرِكَ لي وَمَنِّكَ عَلَيَّ، اَللّهُمَّ مَوْلاي كَمْ مِنْ قَبيح سَتَرْتَهُ وَكَمْ مِنْ فادِح مِنَ الْبَلاءِ اَقَلْتَهُ (اَمَلْتَهُ) وَكَمْ مِنْ عِثار وَقَيْتَهُ، وَكَمْ مِنْ مَكْرُوه دَفَعْتَهُ، وَكَمْ مِنْ ثَناء جَميل لَسْتُ اَهْلاً لَهُ نَشَرْتَهُ، اَللّهُمَّ عَظُمَ بَلائي وَاَفْرَطَ بي سُوءُ حالي، وَقَصُرَتْ (قَصَّرَتْ) بي اَعْمالي وَقَعَدَتْ بي اَغْلالى، وَحَبَسَني عَنْ نَفْعي بُعْدُ اَمَلي (آمالي)، وَخَدَعَتْنِي الدُّنْيا بِغُرُورِها، وَنَفْسي بِجِنايَتِها (بِخِيانَتِها) وَمِطالي يا سَيِّدي فَأَسْأَلُكَ بِعِزَّتِكَ اَنْ لا يَحْجُبَ عَنْكَ دُعائي سُوءُ عَمَلي وَفِعالي، وَلا تَفْضَحْني بِخَفِي مَا اطَّلَعْتَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ سِرّى، وَلا تُعاجِلْني بِالْعُقُوبَةِ عَلى ما عَمِلْتُهُ في خَلَواتي مِنْ سُوءِ فِعْلي وَإساءَتي وَدَوامِ تَفْريطي وَجَهالَتي وَكَثْرَةِ شَهَواتي وَغَفْلَتي، وَكُنِ اللّهُمَّ بِعِزَّتِكَ لي في كُلِّ الاَْحْوالِ (فِي الاَْحْوالِ كُلِّها) رَؤوفاً وَعَلَي في جَميعِ الاُْمُورِ عَطُوفاً اِلـهي وَرَبّي مَنْ لي غَيْرُكَ أَسْأَلُهُ كَشْفَ ضُرّي وَالنَّظَرَ في اَمْري، اِلهي وَمَوْلاي اَجْرَيْتَ عَلَي حُكْماً اِتَّبَعْتُ فيهِ هَوى نَفْسي وَلَمْ اَحْتَرِسْ فيهِ مِنْ تَزْيينِ عَدُوّي، فَغَرَّني بِما اَهْوى وَاَسْعَدَهُ عَلى ذلِكَ الْقَضاءُ فَتَجاوَزْتُ بِما جَرى عَلَي مِنْ ذلِكَ بَعْضَ حُدُودِكَ، وَخالَفْتُ بَعْضَ اَوامِرِكَ فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ (اَلْحُجَّةُ) عَلي في جَميعِ ذلِكَ وَلا حُجَّةَ لي فيما جَرى عَلَيَّ فيهِ قَضاؤُكَ وَاَلْزَمَني حُكْمُكَ وَبَلاؤُكَ، وَقَدْ اَتَيْتُكَ يا اِلـهي بَعْدَ تَقْصيري وَاِسْرافي عَلى نَفْسي مُعْتَذِراً نادِماً مُنْكَسِراً مُسْتَقيلاً مُسْتَغْفِراً مُنيباً مُقِرّاً مُذْعِناً مُعْتَرِفاً لا اَجِدُ مَفَرّاً مِمّا كانَ مِنّي وَلا مَفْزَعاً اَتَوَجَّهُ اِلَيْهِ في اَمْري غَيْرَ قَبُولِكَ عُذْري وَاِدْخالِكَ اِيّايَ في سَعَة (مِنْ) رَحْمَتِكَ اَللّـهُمَّ (اِلـهي) فَاقْبَلْ عُذْري وَارْحَمْ شِدَّةَ ضُرّي وَفُكَّني مِنْ شَدِّ وَثاقي، يا رَبِّ ارْحَمْ ضَعْفَ بَدَني وَرِقَّةَ جِلْدي وَدِقَّةَ عَظْمي، يا مَنْ بَدَأَ خَلْقي وَذِكْري وَتَرْبِيَتي وَبِرّى وَتَغْذِيَتي هَبْني لاِبـْتِداءِ كَرَمِكَ وَسالِفِ بِرِّكَ بي يا اِلـهي وَسَيِّدي وَرَبّي، اَتُراكَ مُعَذِّبي بِنارِكَ بَعْدَ تَوْحيدِكَ وَبَعْدَ مَا انْطَوى عَلَيْهِ قَلْبي مِنْ مَعْرِفَتِكَ وَلَهِجَ بِهِ لِساني مِنْ ذِكْرِكَ، وَاعْتَقَدَهُ ضَميري مِنْ حُبِّكَ، وَبَعْدَ صِدْقِ اعْتِرافي وَدُعائي خاضِعاً لِرُبُوبِيَّتِكَ، هَيْهاتَ اَنْتَ اَكْرَمُ مِنْ اَنْ تُضَيِّعَ مَنْ رَبَّيْتَهُ اَوْ تُبْعِدَ (تُبَعِّدَ) مَنْ اَدْنَيْتَهُ اَوْ تُشَرِّدَ مَنْ اوَيْتَهُ اَوْ تُسَلِّمَ اِلَى الْبَلاءِ مَنْ كَفَيْتَهُ وَرَحِمْتَهُ، وَلَيْتَ شِعْرى يا سَيِّدي وَاِلـهي وَمَوْلايَ اَتُسَلِّطُ النّارَ عَلى وُجُوه خَرَّتْ لِعَظَمَتِكَ ساجِدَةً، وَعَلى اَلْسُن نَطَقَتْ بِتَوْحيدِكَ صادِقَةً، وَبِشُكْرِكَ مادِحَةً، وَعَلى قُلُوب اعْتَرَفَتْ بِاِلهِيَّتِكَ مُحَقِّقَةً، وَعَلى ضَمائِرَ حَوَتْ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ بِكَ حَتّى صارَتْ خاشِعَةً، وَعَلى جَوارِحَ سَعَتْ اِلى اَوْطانِ تَعَبُّدِكَ طائِعَةً وَاَشارَتْ بِاسْتِغْفارِكَ مُذْعِنَةً، ما هكَذَا الظَّنُّ بِكَ وَلا اُخْبِرْنا بِفَضْلِكَ عَنْكَ يا كَريمُ يا رَبِّ وَاَنْتَ تَعْلَمُ ضَعْفي عَنْ قَليل مِنْ بَلاءِ الدُّنْيا وَعُقُوباتِها وَما يَجْري فيها مِنَ الْمَكارِهِ عَلى اَهْلِها، عَلى اَنَّ ذلِكَ بَلاءٌ وَمَكْرُوهٌ قَليلٌ مَكْثُهُ، يَسيرٌ بَقاؤُهُ، قَصيرٌ مُدَّتُهُ فَكَيْفَ احْتِمالي لِبَلاءِ الاْخِرَةِ وَجَليلِ (حُلُولِ) وُقُوعِ الْمَكارِهِ فيها وَهُوَ بَلاءٌ تَطُولُ مُدَّتُهُ وَيَدُومُ مَقامُهُ وَلا يُخَفَّفُ عَنْ اَهْلِهِ لاَِنَّهُ لا يَكُونُ إلاّ عَنْ غَضَبِكَ وَاْنتِقامِكَ وَسَخَطِكَ، وَهذا ما لا تَقُومُ لَهُ السَّمـاواتُ وَالاَْرْضُ يا سَيِّدِي فَكَيْفَ لي (بي) وَاَنَا عَبْدُكَ الضَّعيـفُ الـذَّليـلُ الْحَقيـرُ الْمِسْكيـنُ الْمُسْتَكينُ، يا اِلهي وَرَبّي وَسَيِّدِي وَمَوْلايَ لاَِيِّ الاُْمُورِ اِلَيْكَ اَشْكُو وَلِما مِنْها اَضِجُّ وَاَبْكي لاَِليمِ الْعَذابِ وَشِدَّتِهِ، اَمْ لِطُولِ الْبَلاءِ وَمُدَّتِهِ، فَلَئِنْ صَيَّرْتَنى لِلْعُقُوباتِ مَعَ اَعْدائِكَ وَجَمَعْتَ بَيْني وَبَيْنَ اَهْلِ بَلائِكَ وَفَرَّقْتَ بَيْني وَبَيْنَ اَحِبّائِكَ وَاَوْليائِكَ، فَهَبْني يا اِلـهى وَسَيِّدِي وَمَوْلايَ وَرَبّي صَبَرْتُ عَلى عَذابِكَ فَكَيْفَ اَصْبِرُ عَلى فِراقِكَ، وَهَبْني (يا اِلـهي) صَبَرْتُ عَلى حَرِّ نارِكَ فَكَيْفَ اَصْبِرُ عَنِ النَّظَرِ اِلى كَرامَتِكَ اَمْ كَيْفَ اَسْكُنُ فِي النّارِ وَرَجائي عَفْوُكَ فَبِعِزَّتِكَ يا سَيِّدى وَمَوْلايَ اُقْسِمُ صادِقاً لَئِنْ تَرَكْتَني ناطِقاً لاَِضِجَّنَّ اِلَيْكَ بَيْنَ اَهْلِها ضَجيجَ الاْمِلينَ (الاْلِمينَ) وَلاََصْرُخَنَّ اِلَيْكَ صُراخَ الْمَسْتَصْرِخينَ، وَلاََبْكِيَنَّ عَلَيْكَ بُكاءَ الْفاقِدينَ، وَلاَُنادِيَنَّكَ اَيْنَ كُنْتَ يا وَلِيَّ الْمُؤْمِنينَ، يا غايَةَ آمالِ الْعارِفينَ، يا غِياثَ الْمُسْتَغيثينَ، يا حَبيبَ قُلُوبِ الصّادِقينَ، وَيا اِلهَ الْعالَمينَ، اَفَتُراكَ سُبْحانَكَ يا اِلهى وَبِحَمْدِكَ تَسْمَعُ فيها صَوْتَ عَبْد مُسْلِم سُجِنَ (يُسْجَنُ) فيها بِمُخالَفَتِهِ، وَذاقَ طَعْمَ عَذابِها بِمَعْصِيَتِهِ وَحُبِسَ بَيْنَ اَطْباقِها بِجُرْمِهِ وَجَريرَتِهِ وَهُوَ يَضِجُّ اِلَيْكَ ضَجيجَ مُؤَمِّل لِرَحْمَتِكَ، وَيُناديكَ بِلِسانِ اَهْلِ تَوْحيدِكَ، وَيَتَوَسَّلُ اِلَيْكَ بِرُبُوبِيَّتِكَ، يا مَوْلايَ فَكَيْفَ يَبْقى فِي الْعَذابِ وَهُوَ يَرْجُو ما سَلَفَ مِنْ حِلْمِكَ، اَمْ كَيْفَ تُؤْلِمُهُ النّارُ وَهُوَ يَأْملُ فَضْلَكَ وَرَحْمَتَكَ اَمْ كَيْفَ يُحْرِقُهُ لَهيبُها وَاَنْتَ تَسْمَعُ صَوْتَهُ وَتَرى مَكانَه اَمْ كَيْفَ يَشْتَمِلُ عَلَيْهِ زَفيرُها وَاَنْتَ تَعْلَمُ ضَعْفَهُ، اَمْ كَيْفَ يَتَقَلْقَلُ بَيْنَ اَطْباقِها وَاَنْتَ تَعْلَمُ صِدْقَهُ، اَمْ كَيْفَ تَزْجُرُهُ زَبانِيَتُها وَهُوَ يُناديكَ يا رَبَّهُ، اَمْ كَيْفَ يَرْجُو فَضْلَكَ في عِتْقِهِ مِنْها فَتَتْرُكُهُ فيها هَيْهاتَ ما ذلِكَ الظَّنُ بِكَ وَلاَ الْمَعْرُوفُ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ وَلا مُشْبِهٌ لِما عامَلْتَ بِهِ الْمُوَحِّدينَ مِنْ بِرِّكَ وَاِحْسانِكَ، فَبِالْيَقينِ اَقْطَعُ لَوْ لا ما حَكَمْتَ بِهِ مِنْ تَعْذيبِ جاحِديكَ، وَقَضَيْتَ بِهِ مِنْ اِخْلادِ مُعانِدِيكَ لَجَعَلْتَ النّارَ كُلَّها بَرْداً وَسَلاماً وَما كانَت لاَِحَد فيها مَقَرّاً وَلا مُقاماً لكِنَّكَ تَقَدَّسَتْ اَسْماؤُكَ اَقْسَمْتَ اَنْ تَمْلاََها مِنَ الْكافِرينَ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنّاسِ اَجْمَعينَ، وَاَنْ تُخَلِّدَ فيهَا الْمُعانِدينَ وَاَنْتَ جَلَّ ثَناؤُكَ قُلْتَ مُبْتَدِئاً، وَتَطَوَّلْتَ بِالاًِنْعامِ مُتَكَرِّماً اَفَمَنْ كانَ مُؤْمِناً كَمَنْ كانَ فاسِقاً لا يَسْتَوُونَ، اِلهى وَسَيِّدى فَأَسْأَلُكَ Arkeolog paling ahli membedakan benda kuno atau bukan. Ketika hendak belanja di sebuah toko, eh.. malah menemukan kalung kuno di leher kasir toko.

Kalung kuno itu bukan sekedar antik. Namun tiada ternilai harganya. Kalung tersebut diperkirakan berusia 3.000 tahun sebelum Masehi.

Betapa bernilainya kalung tersebut bermula dari serombongan arkeolog dari Museum Nasional Bulgaria yang sedang berbelanja di sebuah toko. Usai berbelanja, salah seorang arkeolog itu hendak membayar belanjaannya di kasir.

Betapa terkejutnya dia ketika melihat kalung yang digunakan penjaga kasir. Sambil mengerjap-ngerjapkan mata, dia memperhatikan dengan seksama kalung tersebut. Dia pun kaget ketika menaksir usia kalung tersebut.

"Mereka hampir saja kelewatan ketika melihat kalung yang digunakan wanita itu. Ini penemuan yang mengejutkan. Luar biasa," kata Direktur Museum Nasional Bulgaria Prof Bozhidar Dimitrov, seperti diberitakan Ananova, Kamis (2/8/2007).

Dari mana wanita tersebut mendapatkan kalung yang sangat berharga itu? Dari suaminya, Boris Todorov. Pria berusia 43 tahun itu tidak sengaja menemukan perhiasan ketika menggarap sawahnya.

Perhiasan tersebut kemudian dibersihkan, dijadikan satu, kemudian diberikan kepada istrinya sebagai tanda kasihnya. Tidak pernah dia menyangka perhiasan tersebut sangat berharga.

Arkeolog percaya, perhiasan tersebut ditanam sebagai bagian dari ritual persembahan kepada dewa-dewa.

Early in the evening of Sunday, March 22, 1970, Kathleen Johns, 23, was driving with her infant daughter Jennifer on Highway 132 in San Joaquin County, several miles west of Modesto, when a man in a light-colored American car started honking his horn and blinking his lights at her. Driving alongside her car, he said that one of her wheels was wobbling and volunteered to fix it. He followed her as she pulled over at Bird Road, a turn-off just west of Interstate 5, then got out with a lug wrench and pretended to tighten the nuts on her right rear wheel. In fact, he removed them, and when Johns tried to drive off, the whole wheel spun loose. Again, the man offered help, this time in the form of a ride to a nearby service station.

She accepted, and they continued in the man's car westward on 132 until he pulled into a Richfield station at Chrisman Road. It was closed, and there followed an hour and a half or more of silent and apparently aimless driving through the city of Tracy and its rural environs. As they passed occasional other service stations, she asked a few times "What's wrong with this station," or "Why can't we go in that station," to which he replied that it was not the right one. A police report states, "she said she was very scared of this man, did want to get out, but did not tell him to stop the vehicle or let her out" [Footnote 1].

Ms. Johns soon realized that the stranger wasn't taking her to any service station, and asked him if he always went around helping people like this. The man responded, "By the time I get through with them, they won't need my help" [Footnote 2]. From time to time he would slow down, as if he were about to pull over, and then would speed up again. Finally, he stopped the car short at a stop sign, and Johns took the opportunity to escape. She held her baby tightly and jumped from the car, running across a nearby field and up an embankment where she hid in the shadows. The man turned his headlights off, moved his car a few feet, and waited silently without leaving the car. After about five minutes, he turned his lights back on and drove away.

Ms. Johns was soon picked up by a passing Samaritan. When she made it to the local police station in Patterson, Ms Johns recognized the man who had sabotaged her wheel as the man in the composite sketch of the Zodiac, which appeared in a Wanted poster that hung prominently in the office. The desk sergeant, perhaps terrified at the prospect of a confrontation with a villain on the level of Dr. Octopus or the Joker, had Johns wait alone in a nearby cafe for several hours until her car could be returned. The sergeant broadcast the car's last known location, and a Stanislaus County Sheriff's Deputy found it thoroughly burned and still smoldering -- the abductor had returned to the car and set it on fire, destroying everything inside. Some sources report that Johns' car was moved to another location before being torched. However, the car's hubcap was found nearby, meaning that if the car had been moved then the man responsible had gone to the unlikely trouble of bringing it with him, if not reattaching the hubcap, driving to the new location, removing the hubcap again, and discarding it before igniting the car. Given that the police reports make no mention of any trouble finding the car near the Interstate intersection, it seems safe to assume that the car was never moved.

Ms. Johns' accounts of the night's events have varied over the years, and differ from interview to interview. The most dramatic version, and the most familiar, is the one recounted in a San Francisco Chronicle article by Paul Avery that appeared eight months after the incident [Footnote 3], which has the man overtly threatening both the woman and her baby, and getting out of his car with a flashlight after her escape. This version of the story is the one that appears in Robert Graysmith's ZODIAC. It should be remembered that Ms. Johns told two seperate police officers shortly after her abduction that the man simply closed the car door and drove away [Footnote 4]. Moreover, articles published in the Modesto Bee and San Francisco Examiner in the days after the incident match the police reports. In the late 1990s, after identifying two different and dissimilar men as her abductor, Johns admitted that she couldn't even remember if she had been legally married at the time, and that her memory could not be trusted to make a case against any particular suspect.

Ok, so not so long ago I bragged about the 3 attraction of this year’s event. Well, i have to backtrack a little bit. It is now a two-attraction event, but that is we want to make it the most two attractions as possible. You see, Nightmare Circus was going to be a departure for us, and we ed that too many of our res, time and were being ed into that work, so we collectively to do what we do best instead - haunted s. So we are amping up Nightmare: Legends to be something even er then ly conceived. Initially it was going to be a fun little companion to Nightmare: Bad Dreams Come True, but instead we want to make it something you will love. It won’t compare in size and to the big this year (that is going to be very , i to god), but it is going to be a ton of fun, and rather . It is a collection of classic monsters like Witch, Vampire, Frankenstein, and of course a guy with a saw. It is old-school balls, but for some they might even like it more. It is then Bad Dreams, and way er then the Maze last year (although that was pretty fun i thought, but a lark). This is the real deal Holyfield which is why we are tickets to the event this year as one attraction. Any ticket you buy gets you into the two haunted s. There will be loads of side ment for FREE this year that weren’t there last year the event a full night of ment. This is all you are going to have to do for the night. Yes, including that. Oh, and there will still be clowns. Bad Dreams has clowns. I won’t tell you how, what or in what context, but a about nightmares is going to have a few clowns.

"NIGHTMARE: GHOST STORIES" took flight when Psycho Clan conducted an online poll of people's paranormal experiences, collected the creepiest stories and campfire tales, and, from them, crafted the exceptional ghostly experience. Each of the 17 rooms features a different spirit….apparitions, phantasms, possessions and more, all waiting to inflict a unique brand of fear on the unwary. "NIGHTMARE: GHOST STORIES" is a classic walk-through haunted house. A cast of 20 live performers act out all manner of macabre, scream-inducing scenarios. Tickets are sold in half-hour intervals, and patrons can expect to enter the house during their designated thirty minutes. Groups of no more than ten patrons enter house at a time.

But the fright doesn't end with just the haunted house. There are two other attractions. They were created by the cloning company to eliminate the billions of cloned Lintillas flooding out of a malfunctioning cloning machine. Being anti-clones, when an Allitnil comes into physical contact with a Lintilla, they both wink out of existence in a puff of unsmoke.

Along with Poodoo and Varntvar the Priest, three Allitnils arrived on Brontitall to get the three Lintillas there to "agree to cease to be". Two of the clones eliminate their corresponding Lintillas, but Arthur shoots the third Allitnil, so that one Lintilla survives.

Appearing only in the final episode of the second radio series, every one of the Allitnils are voiced by David Tate.

From 1756 to 1781, Jacob Philadelphia performed feats of magic, sometimes under the guise of scientific exhibitions, throughout Europe and in Russia. Modern entertainment magic owes much of its origins to Jean Eugène Robert-Houdin (1805-1871), originally a clockmaker, who opened a magic theatre in Paris in the 1840s. His speciality was the construction of mechanical automata which appeared to move and act as if they were alive. The British performer J N Maskelyne and his partner Cooke established their own theatre, the Egyptian Hall in London's Piccadilly, in 1873. They presented stage magic, exploiting the potential of the stage for hidden mechanisms and assistants, and the control it offers over the audience's point of view. The greatest celebrity magician of the nineteenth century (or possibly of all time), Harry Houdini (real name Ehrich Weiss, 1874 - 1926), took his stage name from Robert-Houdin and developed a range of stage magic tricks, many of them based on escapology (though that word was not used until after Houdini's death). The son of a Hungarian rabbi, Houdini was genuinely highly skilled in techniques such as lockpicking and escaping straitjackets, but also made full use of the whole range of conjuring techniques, including fake equipment and collusion with individuals in the audience. Houdini's showbusiness savvy was as great as his performing skill. There is a Houdini Museum dedicated to him in Scranton, PA.
