"NIGHTMARE: GHOST STORIES," NEW YORK'S RECORD-
BREAKING HAUNTED HOUSE TO PREMIERE IN SOUTH
FLORIDA IN EXCLUSIVE MIAMI RUN SEPTEMBER 25
TO NOVEMBER 1 AT WYNWOOD'S SOHO STUDIOS
Adding considerable excitement to South Florida's edgy entertainment scene is the announcement that Psycho Clan will bring "NIGHTMARE: GHOST STORIES," New York's Horrifying Haunted House and its famed interactive experience to Miami this September. The event has been scaring record-breaking crowds of ghost seekers on Manhattan's super-hot Lower East Side for four years, and will premiere in Miami's own center of urban heat for a run, Thursday, September 25 through Sunday, November 1, at Soho Studios, 2136 N.W. First Avenue, Wynwood.
All tickets, including Halloween, are $25 advance / $30 at the door / $45 VIP Express Entry. Tickets go on sale August 20 via American Express and locally on August 27 via www.nightmaremiami.com or by calling 1-888-695-0888.
Created by Timothy Haskell, who ABC World News Tonight tagged the "king of horror," directed by John Harlacher (writer and director of the feature film, "Urchin") and produced by David Solomon Rodriguez, "NIGHTMARE: GHOST STORIES" will make its bow under the aegis of Psycho Clan and will coincide with the New York premiere of the franchise's newest offering, "Nightmare: Bad Dreams Come True," on September 25 ( www.NightmareNewYork.com.)
"NIGHTMARE: GHOST STORIES" took flight when Psycho Clan conducted an online poll of people's paranormal experiences, collected the creepiest stories and campfire tales, and, from them, crafted the exceptional ghostly experience. Each of the 17 rooms features a different spirit….apparitions, phantasms, possessions and more, all waiting to inflict a unique brand of fear on the unwary. "NIGHTMARE: GHOST STORIES" is a classic walk-through haunted house. A cast of 20 live performers act out all manner of macabre, scream-inducing scenarios. Tickets are sold in half-hour intervals, and patrons can expect to enter the house during their designated thirty minutes. Groups of no more than ten patrons enter house at a time.
But the fright doesn't end with just the haunted house. There are two other attractions. "Nightmare: Old School" is a smaller haunted attraction filled with classic horror icons like zombies, vampires, Frankenstein and other haunted house fixtures you remember from your neighbor's house. Finally, "The Mortuary," is a fun, immersive experience set in a funeral parlor where the dead put the living to rest. "NIGHTMARE: GHOST STORIES" is a three-event attraction that also has a full outdoor bar and lounge.
Heading the creative team, Timothy Haskell, who also designs the sound, most recently directed Off-Broadway's "Stitching," "The Ja
ded Assassin," "Fatal Attraction: A Greek Tragedy" starring Corey Feldman at the Classic Stage Company, the Paris Hilton spoof, "I Love Paris" by Doug Fields, and "Road House: The Stage Play." The creative team includes: costume designer Wendy Yang, Art Directors Aaron Haskell and Justin Haskell, video/photographer Jaisen Crockett, special effects designer David Andora, set designer Paul Smithyman, and lighting designer Garin Marschall. Psycho Clan is a division of Art Meets Commerce LLC, an entertainment company dedicated to special events, theatrical productions and new media applications. Principals are Chip Meyrelles, Ken Greiner, Timothy Haskell, Amanda Pekoe, Laurie Connor and Jim Glaub. Producing Credits include "Bug," "Lieutenant of Inishmore," "Orson's Shadow," and "Magic Hands Freddy," as well as Timothy Haskell's "Nightmare: New York's Most Horrifying Haunted House." Joining the company of the Miami production will be producer Steve Kopelman who counts 27 years in the "haunt" industry with attractions across the U.S. including Arizona, Texas, North Carolina, and New Mexico. Current productions include Thrillvania (www.thrillvania.com) and The Nest (www.frightened.com). Kopelman is also an owner of the premier online haunted house directory, www.hauntedhouse.com.
